Zimbabwe: Minister's past catches up with him

FEARED former security Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa's sordid past has caught up with him following revelations that his henchmen pushed Godfrey Majonga from the second floor of a Harare woman's flat to the concrete-paved ground, breaking his spine in the process.

Upon realising they had badly injured him, they took Majonga to another block of flats where his best friend Chris Somo lived and dumped him there. He was found early in the morning by residents of the flats, among them, Somo.
When contacted by ZimDaily for comment, Mnangagwa hissed: "Who told you that? It's all lies. Be careful about what you write because I'll get you." When told this writer was using a public phone, he sneered: "Even then, I'll get you!" before hanging up. Chikanga, who now lives in Hatfield, admitted Frank was indeed Mnangagwa's son but denied Majonga was found by Mnangagwa's henchmen at her flat.
Quizzed further on circumstances surrounding Majonga's injury, she retorted, "Do I live with Godfrey? Am I his wife? Go and ask his wife or Somo. Efforts to contact Somo were in vain.
The matter almost came to light in 2001 when a grown up Frank Chikanga (Mnangagwa's son) was jailed for armed robbery. He reportedly boasted to a fellow inmate that he was going to be released as his father was a powerful cabinet minister.
He was indeed released under unclear circumstances prompting a parliamentary inquiry. Mnangagwa was the Minister of Justice and he had ordered his release. He wriggled himself off the hook claiming he was not related to Frank Chikanga and that his release was a mistake by one of his officers.
Majonga has remained mum. In the meantime, he remains a pitiful and helpless sight at Danhiko.

we zimbabweans have a problem and until we rectify it we will never be able to do anything for our country. what is having a concubine anything to do with being zanu or mdc ? most men have girlfriends whether in africa, europe or america. but they have continued run their professional jobs very well. look at the current republican presidential hopefulls my God you might think it is sodom and gomorah. and yet these are men who have acquited themselves with such diligence in their jobs. let us give credit when it is deserved and stop criticizing the sake of it. we need to start coming up with ideas on how to develop Zimbabwe not personalising things. president Edward Kennedy once said it is not "what the country can do for you but what can you do for your country". Godrey majonga saga we all know what happened so what. he is not the first and not the last. come on guys lets come up with concrete ideas on how to develop our country. even if MDC came into power are we going to fold our hands and expect things to change are we expecting MDC to feed us and cloth us, open factories, till the land for us NO NO NO. we are the ones to do it. Problem with Zimbabweans we talk too much and do very little. we are not the only ones in the diaspora and with problems. There are so many other Africans but they never complain they are busy contributing to uplifting the standards of their folks back home. How many of us have sent a pound or a dollar towards helping our parents or relatives in the rural areas towards sinking a borehole or starting an irrigation project? i can bet very few. well weather we like it or not Zimbabwe is our country with or without Mugabe or Tsvangirai. aluta continua!!! concubine

the correct name of the child in question is George Tanyanyiwa Chikanga whose mother Febby met Cde Mnangagwa in Zambia during the liberation struggle. What is also important to notice is that Godfrey Majonga has always maintained that he does not remember the moments that preceded his infamous fall, but it was ofcourse in Avondale, at a friend's place allegedly. Otherwise that is a good piece of investigative journalism, keep the flame alive.

Please how many times should you people be told so that you can learn? Yes, such a story might have happened but the issue the we as Zimbabwean s should address is The Economy which has gone badly uncontrolled.If it is known that the minister met Febby during the liberation struggle and the case yaMajonga yatova ne"time" yaitika why talking of it now???
